WLI - Team Round Table

On February 18, our dedicated team gathered at Southwest Illinois College for an inspiring roundtable discussion that proved to be both enlightening and motivating. During the meeting, we took time to share the significant progress each Mentee-Mentor pair has made through their weekly communications and updates, which fostered a sense of community and accountability among us all.

To kick off the evening, Cathy Dupertuis introduced the esteemed Jamie Papenberg, LMT—a talented author, holistic wellness advocate, and skilled massage therapist. Jamie led us through a transformative exercise designed to help us envision our lives five years into the future. As we closed our eyes and engaged in this guided visualization, we were encouraged to ponder our aspirations, dreams, and the paths we might take to achieve them. The room filled with a sense of relaxation and newfound hope as we collectively imagined our ideal futures, leaving us inspired and rejuvenated.

Following this introspective segment, we shifted gears to partake in a dynamic team-building exercise that highlighted the importance of collaboration. We broke into small groups and faced the delightful challenge of constructing towers using only spaghetti and marshmallows. This hands-on activity challenged our creativity and problem-solving skills, showcasing not only our ability to work as a cohesive unit but also the abundance of innovative ideas that flourish when we combine our talents. The laughter and camaraderie that emerged throughout the exercise served as a reminder of the incredible connections we are building within our team.
