26/27 WLI - Session 6 - Kickoff Meeting

Oct 1
1 min read

Our mentees and mentors have their first opportunity to introduce themselves to their assigned team member, marking an important milestone in the development of their professional relationship. During this initial meeting, mentees will have the chance to present their backgrounds, interests, and aspirations, providing a comprehensive overview that helps their mentors understand their unique perspectives and goals. Conversely, mentors will share their own experiences, expertise, and insights, offering valuable context that can guide the mentees on their journey. This introduction is not simply a formality; it serves as the foundation for building trust and rapport, which are essential for effective mentorship. Moreover, this interaction allows both parties to set expectations for their relationship moving forward. Mentees can express what they hope to gain from the mentorship experience, while mentors can outline how they plan to support their mentees in achieving their objectives. By the end of this initial introduction, both mentees and mentors will have a clearer picture of how they can work together effectively, paving the way for a fruitful and enriching mentorship experience.
